CLUB DISCOVERY
Why is this program so important? Club Discovery is a free after-school program designed to engage children (both with and without special needs) in learning through creative exploration, through the guidance of Museum experts in the arts and sciences, and through our exhibits. It is designed to promote independence and socialization.

The Museum works to include children who might not otherwise participate in a Museum experience or a school field trip. Museum experts engage Club Discovery members in activities that include team building and personal discovery, in an effort to help them grow as lifelong museum members and volunteers.

The Museum will achieve its goals for the Club when children with special needs learn to be comfortable and confident when they visit and explore any museum environment. After completing Club Discovery’s program, participating children will receive a one-year family membership to the Museum. As members, children and their families may continue to visit the Museum and build on the educational foundation that was laid during the program.

• Club Discovery is designed for children with special needs, ages 8- to 12-years-old, and typically developing peers ages 8- to 12-years-old
• Club Discovery’s maximum capacity is 30 children (15 with special needs and 15 peers)
• Club Discovery is held at Creative Discovery Museum, but includes field trips to local destinations
• Club Discovery is held on Tuesdays, 5 to 7 p.m.
• Club Discovery is FREE of charge
