SCIENCE FUN
The Museum offers unique science demonstrations in the Auditorium and informal science activities in the Atrium. These activities are FREE with Museum admission, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Call the Museum at (423) 756-2738 to check today's schedule.
  • SCIENCE DEMONSTRATIONS
    Times will vary.

    This on-stage science lesson, in the Auditorium, provides a fun and exciting way for museum guests to learn about science. Dynamic and engaging, science demonstrations rely on audience participation, so come prepared!

    • A Light Look at Science
      – Do you like rainbows, fireflies, or explosions? Find out what these things have in common during A Light Look at Science. Everyone will have a blast learning about the science of light in this illuminating demonstration. Enjoy amazing experiments with combustion, ultrviolet light, and chemical luminescence. Audience members will have fun learning about light waves, the colors of the rainbow, and the different types of light in this fun and interactive demonstration.


  • SCIENCE WALKUPS
    Daily at various times
    Science walkups are informal learning opportunities related to the science exhibits. They cover a range of topics from magnets to burrowing (live) animals. These unique programs are offered daily and are conducted in the atrium.

  • SCIENTIST-IN-RESIDENCE
    The Scientist-In-Residence program provides museum guests an opportunity to get hands-on experience with Chattanooga area scientists. No reservations required. These activities are free with museum admission.
