VISITOR'S SERVICES/CAFE STAFF
Description: The Creative Discovery Museum, a hands-on museum for children, is seeking part-time Visitor Service Cafe/Shop/Ticket Desk Associate. You must be 18 years of age. The Visitors Service Associate's major responsibility is that of servicing Museum visitors and staff who eat in the Cafe, including ringing up sales, preparing food, maintaining a clean dining area, and closing the cafe. Ticket desk handles box office operations and assists all museum guests when they enter and leave the building. In the Museum shop ringing up sales and stocking. Questions, emergency situations or announcements are handled through Visitor Services. - Provides Customer Service

OUTREACH EDUCATOR
Description: Creative Discovery Museum offers art, math, and science outreach programs to schools within a 30-mile radius of the Museum. Designed to be a content resource for area teachers as well as fostering a positive attitude toward science, math, and art, each outreach program includes hands-on activities reinforcing the concepts being explored. Outreach programs will be available to students in grades Pre-K through 5th grade and will be approximately one hour in length. The School Outreach Educator will be responsible for teaching these lessons.
QUALIFICATIONS: Outreach educators should have demonstrated the ability to work collarboratively, to communicate effectively, to work with a variety of personalities, and to be an effective part of a team. They should be flexible, patient, and have a high energy level. They should have strong organizational skills and experience working with a team. A degree in Elementary Education or a related field is required, as well as three years previous experience teaching and managing children in a self-contained classroom setting.

MUSEUM EDUCATOR - LEVEL I
Description: Museum Educators are responsible for providing a quality experience for all museum guests by ensuring a safe, fun, and clean environment. This position is expected to be available for work during the museum's regular hours, including weekends and evening events.
QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, work with a variety of personalities, be an effective part of a team, be flexible, and be patient. Applicants must be able to work a flexible part time schedule between 12 and 25 hours per week, have a high school diploma, 1 year life experience or formal education (beyond high school), experience working with children aged 2-12, have a high energy level, and experience working in a team.

BIRTHDAY HOST - Science Theatre – Part-time
Description: Birthday Hosts are responsible for providing an overall quality experience for guests both before and during the party. They should be fun-loving and proactive in meeting the needs and safety of all guests. Hosts are responsible for party set-up and clean-up, performing necessary duties to ensure parties run smoothly and safely, interacting and communicating with adults and children both before and during the party, meeting the needs of the birthday child and family, maintaining party activity schedule, and safely operating the laser. In addition, hosts are required to demonstrate simple science experiments, explain the concepts to elementary school age children and engaging the party guests in the science show.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, to communicate effectively with both adults and children, and are able to solve problems quickly and efficiently as they arise. Qualified applicants are responsible, friendly, outgoing, patient, and flexible and work well in a fast-paced, noisy and active environment. A high school diploma and a commitment to work weekends and regular business hours (occasional, weekday late afternoons) are required.
