Dutch artist Piet Mondrian was a famous painter with a very distinctive style. His use of bright primary colors and simple geomertric shapes had quite and impact. Use a few simple materials to make an impressive design in Mondrian's style!
MATERIALS:
- rulers
- paper
- crayons
- black marker
DO THIS:
1. Place the ruler over the paper and use the marker to draw lines onto the paper.
2. Repeat this many times. Try placing the ruler in different directions to make different lines: horizontal, vertical, diagonal.
3. Now step back and look at all the different shapes you made.
4. Use crayons to color in the shapes. Remember to leave a lot of the shapes blank with no color.
Since you are the artist, you will decide when you have added enough color to your masterpiece! You may also want to mount your creation on a larger piece of paper to frame it.
