Our travelling exhibit for Summer 2008 is "Adventures with Clifford the Big Red Dog!" There's lots to learn from Clifford. Make these dog ears at home and have fun practicing Clifford's "10 Big ideas".
Dog Ears Headband
Materials Needed:
- Construction Paper
- Crayons or Markers
- Stapler or Tape
- Kid-safe
Scissors
Instructions:
Using the construction
paper, make a headband by cutting out a strip of paper about 2 inches
thick and long enough to wrap around your fore head (make sure you make
it an inch or two longer so you can staple the ends together).
Now, fold another piece of paper in half and cut out a set of dog
ears. They can be long, teardrop-shaped ears, or short, perky ears -
whatever you want! Now, you can use crayons or markers and add spots or
other designs to your dog ears.
Place the edge of each ear on
either side of the headband and staple or tape them in place. Once the
ears are attached, staple or tape the ends of the headband together for
a snug fit.
