Here are some FAQ's about Creative Discovery Museum Birthday Parties:

Where will the party take place in the Museum?

Birthday parties take place in the Rainbow Room. The Rainbow Room has a throne where the birthday child can sit and have his/her picture made while the guests sign the frame.

How many people can I invite?

Birthday parties are reserved for up to 40 guests (children and adults).

Will my guests have to pay Museum admission to come to the party?

No. Free Museum admission will be provided for you and your guests on the day of the party.

What does the Museum provide?

The Museum will provide the birthday party coordination, paper goods, birthday cake, ice cream and drinks. Face painting and crown-making will round out the birthday celebration. We will take care of the packages before the party, as well as any leftover cake after the party.

How old does my child need to be to have a Museum birthday party?

Our parties are recommended for children ages 1 and older.

How long can the party last?

The birthday child and guests have one hour of time in the Rainbow Room. But the party doesn't have to end once the hour has passed. You and your child's guests can carry the celebration into the Museum.

Are party favors available?

Yes they are! Send your guests home with souvenirs of their fun time. Our Museum shop offers $3 and $5 bags, or you can create your own custom bag from their unique selection!

Are lunches available?

Yes! Our fantastic Cafe Dino-Mite can provide lunches at an additional cost. They have a great selection of healthy snacks and sandwiches, as well as the more traditional snacks. From Peanutbutter and Jelly to Panini sandwiches, there is something for everyone.

Does the Museum offer themed parties?

Creative Discovery Museum does not offer themed parties.

How far in advance do I need to make the reservations?

Parties are scheduled on a first come, first served basis and often fill up months in advance. So don't wait. We suggest calling early to reserve your child's party.

How do I make a reservation?

Reservations are made by phone. Call Nancy McCurdy at (423)648-6045 or Beth at (423)648-6040 for more information and/or to schedule a party.

How much does it cost?

Our birthday party package costs $185 for non-members and $150 for Museum members.

What are the Museum payment options?

The Museum accepts all major credit cards. Full payment, by credit card or in person is required to reserve your party. Cancellations and refund requests received less than two weeks before a scheduled party date are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Will someone from the Museum staff the party?

yes. Each party will have at least one party host to help with the party.

What do I need to bring?

Friends, family and of course, the birthday child. We will take care of the rest.

Where do I park?

The Museum provides the birthday party family a free parking pass that can be used in either the Museum's staff lot or the Republic lot located behind the building. All birthday guests will have to pay for parking.
