Adventures with Clifford the Big Red Dog Extended to September 30

Museum Plans Special Good-Bye on September 30:

  • Museum Stays Open til 8 p.m.
  • Have Dinner at the Museum’s Healthy Cafe
  • Bring Your Camera for a Picture with Clifford


Because of tremendous interest, Creative Discovery Museum has extended the Adventures with Clifford the Big Red Dog exhibit for two extra days, until Sept. 30. On Clifford’s last day in Chattanooga, the Museum will stay open until 8 p.m., rather than its usual closing time of 5 p.m.

Inspired by Scholastic Entertainment’s top-rated TV show Clifford The Big Red Dog? on PBS KIDS?, the exhibit offers numerous immersive “paws-on” adventures that reinforce “Clifford’s Big Ideas”—ten simple, tangible life lessons designed to help young children navigate their world:  Share, Play Fair, Have Respect, Work Together, Be Responsible, Be Truthful, Be Kind, Believe in Yourself, Be a Good Friend and Help Others.

Be sure to bring your camera, because Clifford himself will be on hand to pose for pictures.

These extended evening hours are a great time for families to go through the Clifford exhibit and have dinner at the Museum in our Dino-Mite Café, suggested Brenda Baskette, director of visitor and retail services.

“We have gradually but completely revamped the café over the last 18 months,” said Ms. Baskette. “We added a cooler for fresh foods like carrots, grapes, yogurt, apples, and chicken salad. We’ve always had juices, but people can see them better in the cooler. We have a panini grill to make special sandwiches. We switched from slushies to smoothies. We still offer hamburgers and hot dogs, but we have added selections so there is more variety and more health choices. Our prices are very reasonable, and people can check out the menu on our web site.”

The café changes are part of the Museum’s overall health initiative that focuses on health information and healthy choices.
