Creative Discovery Museum Celebrates the Fourth
With Red, White and Blue Days, July 4-6!

Every Day Offers Crafts, a Parade and "Bubble Wrap Fireworks"

Fourth of July means fireworks, but not necessarily the combustible kind.

Red, White and Blue Days at the Creative Discovery Museum features "Bubble Wrap Fireworks" as part of the Museum's three-day celebration of Independence Day.

On July 4-6, every day from noon to 4 p.m., kids can show their spirit with Red, White, and Blue face paints. They can make a paper flag, a patriotic wind sock or festive hats and other patriotic crafts, then parade around the Museum. The climax of the parade is a spectacular display of "pedestrian pyrotechnics."

"The children jump up and down on big sheets of bubble wrap. They have huge smiles. They're laughing having great time," said Arts Manager Liza Blair. "Dozens of kids jumping on bubble wrap really does sounds like fireworks. It's a great way for families to celebrate the Fourth together with patriotic activities and a one-of-a-kind parade."

MEDIA NOTE: The parade usually begins at 2 p.m. and lasts about 5-10 minutes, with Bubble Wrap Fireworks exploding around 2:05- 2:10 p.m.

Now Open Summer Hours, June 21, 2008 - August 10, 2008. The Museum is now open every day (Monday through Sunday) from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Regular hours will resume on Monday, August 11, 2008.
