Arts Extravaganza! at Creative Discovery Museum

Spring Break Camp begins March 16th

(March 3, 2009) - Creative Discovery Museum is offering an exciting Arts Extravaganza! camp for Spring Break 2009.  In addition to spending time in the exhibits at Creative Discovery Museum, children will also explore Chattanooga to discover some of our city’s special art offerings.  The camp will take place March 16th through 20th from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day and will be offered for two age groups, Kindergarten through 2nd grade and 3rd grade through 5th.

Children will create their own unique music, movement, sculpture, and painting.  Distinctive techniques and media will be illustrated through a trip to the Hunter Museum of American Art to examine the power of words and imagery in art from featured exhibitor, Lesley Dill.

“We are fortunate to live in a city that exhibits a variety of artistry.  This camp is an exciting opportunity for children to have fun while learning to recognize art that is sometimes unexpected, like incorporating words within images,” states Lynne Mulligan, Programs Manager.  “Best of all, children will be inspired to express their own creativity in unique ways.”

There are a limited number of spaces available.  Reservations for camp may be made by calling Nancy at (423) 648-6045 or Beth at (423) 648-6040.   Visit www.cdmfun.org/camps for more information or call (423) 756-2738.
