Go Berzerk at Creative Discovery Museum

Peter Hart and his Circus Berzerkus Puppet Show perform at Creative Discovery Museum on Saturday, July 11 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Learn the art of puppetry while having fun watching master puppeteer Peter Hart transform his marionette puppets into what is known as the Circus Berzerkus Puppet Show, Saturday, July 11 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in Creative Discovery Museum’s Auditorium.  This event is free with paid admission to the museum.

Sometimes school can be a zoo, but what about a circus?  This circus-themed marionette show uses puppets that dance, juggle, and swing from a trapeze to help children learn how reading and math skills relate to the art of puppetry.

“Peter Hart is such a talented and dedicated puppeteer, it’s an honor to have him perform at our museum”, said Liza Blair, Arts Manager for Creative Discovery Museum.  “Peter’s respect for the art of puppetry is apparent in his work, plus his ability to make what was once stationary come to life with such personality and energy is great fun to watch.”

Peter Hart has been a professional puppeteer for 25+ years.  His professional career has been divided almost equally between his position as Head Puppeteer/Associate Artistic Director at Atlanta’s prestigious Center for Puppetry Arts and his own puppet company he started, Atlanta Puppet.  He incorporated music throughout his performances as background and to give the performance pace and ambiance.

Extended summer hours -- open every day 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $9.95 for children and adults. Creative Discovery Museum is located at 321 Chestnut Street in downtown Chattanooga. For more information, call (423) 756-2738.
