Creative Discovery Museum
Celebrates 14 Years of Inspiration and Learning

(April 24, 2009) – On Saturday, May 23rd, Creative Discovery Museum will celebrate a 14th birthday party like no other.  In addition to engaging exhibits, a full day of special activities and fun is planned for guests of the Museum.

Visitors on May 23rd are invited to celebrate the Museum’s birthday with cake, ice cream and lively music.  Guests are encouraged to come early to design party hats and noisemakers in preparation for the cake cutting at 1:00 p.m. on the Museum Plaza. Free cake and ice cream will be available while quantities last.  A community partner, Read 20, will also be joining the festivities to give away free books.

“The Museum at age 14 is anything but an awkward teenager,” states Dr. Jayne Griffin, Director of Education.  “We continue to grow and mature in our field as we confidently assert ourselves as an organization dedicated to educating through creative inspiration, hands-on exploration of the arts and sciences, and making learning fun for the entire family.”

Since it opened in 1995, the Museum has undergone core exhibit renovation, installation of new exhibits including the Rooftop Fun Factory and Corner Clinic, and has added multiple facets of learning through science demonstrations, art lessons, exhibit programming and expanding its reach through the Science Theatre at Northgate Mall and providing lessons to local area classrooms.

Hours through the month of February, 2009 -- open Monday through Saturday (except Wednesday) 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday noon to 5 p.m., closed Wednesday.

Spring hours, beginning March 1, 2009 -- open Monday through Saturday (including Wednesday) 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
