Creative Discovery Museum’s Rooftop Finds a Fit with SNUG Ingenuity

PlayCore Partners with Museum to Prototype Play Equipment from England

(August 12, 2010) - - With loops, bumps, waves, and noodles, guests of Creative Discovery Museum are invited to expand their imaginations in unexpected ways using Snug, innovative types of play pieces from England.  Snug will be featured in the Museum’s Rooftop Fun Factory beginning Saturday, August 7 through Monday, September 6.

Designed to encourage social interaction, creativity, and active play, the dynamic Snug pieces allow children to build their own imaginative landscapes while establishing developmental skills such as vocabulary, cooperation, and responsibility.  Before arriving in Chattanooga, the pieces were similarly displayed in Chicago.  Feedback noted that children of all ages, even toddlers, “get it” and become engaged in fun, physical activity as they enjoy exploring and creating in the Snug environment.

“Play is such an important part of the development of children and the loose parts play provided by Snug fits perfectly with the hands-on nature of the Museum,” states Dr. Jayne Griffin, Creative Discovery Museum’s Director of Education.  “When it comes to physical play, Snug offers a complete package as kids crawl around and through, climb up and down, balance on one or two feet, use upper body strength to move pieces, and perhaps best of all with all of this physical activity they still get to imagine and problem solve.”
