Ballet Tennessee to Perform at Creative Discovery Museum

(March 11, 2011) - - On April 16 visitors to Creative Discovery Museum may enjoy the classic tale of Peter and the Wolf in a unique performance by Ballet Tennessee. The program will tell the beloved story through dance and movement. Ballet Tennessee only presents Peter and the Wolf once every three or four years, so this is a special event to which children have limited opportunity. The performance will take place at 2 p.m. in the Museum’s Atrium.

“Peter and the Wolf is a classic story and a beautiful dance,” states Creative Discovery Museum Arts Manager, Liza Blair. “The dancers are some of the best in Chattanooga and it is that talent and dedication to a craft that make watching this performance so special. Children of all ages will find this performance delightful.”

The performance is free with paid admission to the Museum. This program is part of Creative Discovery Museum’s ArtsLive!, a year-round program connecting kids with visual and performing artists. Monthly performances and demonstrations by professional artists give children the opportunity to experience art first hand, talk with the artist and even try the art form themselves.  ArtsLive! is funded through Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga and Tennessee Arts Commission.
