Goodwill Service Dog Visit Kicks Off Annual "Kids Like You, Kids Like Me" Exhibit

WHAT:
Media are invited to come to the opening of Creative Discovery Museum’s featured exhibit Kids Like You, Kids Like Me to learn how all children are more alike than they are different. The opening of the exhibit will be celebrated with a visit from a service animal from Goodwill Dog Academy. Ramona Nichols will be on hand to explain how service animals are a vital part to everyday life for some individuals. 
In addition, media are invited to view and actively participate in the exhibit during their visit.

WHEN:
Special Media Invitation:  Friday, September 23; 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The Kids Like You, Kids Like Me exhibit will be featured September 24 – November 6.

Ramona Nichols with the Goodwill Dog Academy will be at Creative Discovery Museum from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Kids Like You, Kids Like Me and related programs are sponsored by Unum.

WHY:
The exhibit helps shed light on relating to people with disabilities in familiar settings where kids would naturally interact with one another, such as in a classroom or on a playground.  Kids get a chance to ask the questions they always wanted to ask and learn more about people with disabilities without feeling embarrassed.
