Did you know that 90% of the brain is developed in the first 3 years of life? PlayGym provides the type of sensory stimulation necessary for brain development by offering a variety of delightful activities. Come make new friends and play with us in PlayGym!

PlayGym is a carefully designed program that encourages the development of motor skills, cognitive skills, social skills, and self-confidence. Fun-filled, age appropriate activities using colorful gym equipment and sensory stimulation provide a wealth of "food" for the brain. Parents and children make friends, share special time together, enjoy new experiences, and have fun!

PlayGym Sessions 2008

  1. Wonderful Winter Fun: 8 Week Session Jan.2nd - Feb.22nd
  2. Creative Play Days: 8 Week Session Feb. 25th - April 25th
    (This is actually 9 weeks, but we won't meet the week of March 17th-22nd in conjunction with Hamilton County Spring Break)
  3. Surprises In Spring: 4 Week Mini-Session Apr.28th - May 23rd
  4. Sensational Summer: 8 Week Session June 2nd - Aug.1st
    (This is actually 9 weeks, but we won't meet the week of June 30th-July 4th)
  5. Four Weeks of Fun: 4 Week Mini-Session Aug.4th - Aug.29th
  6. Fantastic Fall: 8 Week Session Sept.1st - Oct.24th
  7. Festive Fun: 8 Week Session Oct.27th - Jan.3rd
    (This is actually 10 weeks, but we won't meet the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas)

  1. Creative Winter Playtime: 8 Week Session Jan. 5 - Feb. 27
    Come experience special winter themes like Penguins and Snowy Day.
  2. Special Springtime Friends: 8 Week Session Mar. 2 - May 1
    Come and learn about springtime animals.
    (This is actually 9 weeks, but we won't meet the week of March 16 - 20 in conjunction with Hamilton County Spring Break)
  3. Four Imaginary Trips: 4 Week Mini-Session May 4 - May 29
    Come along on imaginary trips Out West, To the Garden, To the Circus, and To the Airport.
  4. Summer Celebrations: 8 Week Session June 1 - July 31
    We will enjoy special summer themes like Boats, Beaches and Picnics.
    (This is actually 9 weeks, but we won't meet the week of June 29 - July 4)
  5. Four Fantastic Storybook Characters: 4 Week Mini-Session  Aug. 3 - Aug. 28
    This will be four weeks of fun with the storybook characters Winnie the Pooh, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Elmo, and the Cat in the Hat.
  6. Awesome Autumn: 8 Week Session  Aug. 31 - Oct. 23
    We will have Fall themes like Leaves and Apples and some imaginary trips to places like the Zoo and the Fire Station.
  7. Festive Fun: 8 Week Session Oct. 26 - Dec. 3
    These eight weeks will include holiday season themes like Turkeys, Bells and Gingerbread.
    (This is actually 10 weeks, but we won't meet the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas)

The Stages of PLAYGYM

BabyGym - 4 to 14 months

Tues. 9:30A.M. & Thurs. 10:30A.M.
Babies engage in a carefully planned program that addresses all important areas of early development. Baby signing, music, movement, socialization, and language development are included in each class. Keepsake art is offered twice a month giving lots of opportunities for sharing baby's milestones with the family.

Little Ones - 12 to 24 months

Mon. 10:30A.M., Tue. 10:30A.M., Thur. 11:30A.M., & Fri. 10:30A.M.
Parents and children enjoy activities based on age appropriate themes that change weekly. Baby sign language gives children communication skills that transfer to the home setting. All classes include seesaw time, choo-choo, bubbles, rhythm band and project time.

2 Much Fun - 24 to 36 months

Tues. 11:30A.M., Thurs. 9:30A.M. or Fri. 11:30A.M.
Brains and muscles are challenged using age appropriate gym equipment, parachute games, tumbling, art projects and rhythm band music. Children also practice social skills as they learn to share, take turns and enjoy playing in a group setting.

Preschool Enrichment - 36 to 47 months

Mon. 11:30A.M. & Fri. 9:30A.M.
Children experience sensory filled activities based on early childhood literary classics. Activities such as making ice cream in a bag, spray painting shirts, planting seeds, and baking cookies provide rich connections to delightful literature.


Class Fees By Session:

All classes run in 8 week sessions.
8 Week Sessions: Members - $65; Non-Members - $85
4 Week Mini-Sessions: Members - $32.50; Non-Members - $42.50

Reservations are required. Space is filled on a first come, first served basis. Creative Discovery Museum reserves the right to change, add, or combine classes based upon changes in class enrollment. Payment due upon registration. No refunds. Makeup classes available.
