Did you know that 90% of the brain is developed in the first 3 years of life? PlayGym provides the type of sensory stimulation necessary for brain development by offering a variety of delightful activities. Come make new friends and play with us in PlayGym!

Research shows sensory activities are the best ways for young children to learn. All PlayGym classes are designed to include multi-sensory stimulation. PlayGym themes provide an excellent opportunity for young children to learn new vocabulary as they experience play like never before!

PlayGym is a carefully designed program that encourages the development of motor skills, cognitive skills, social skills, and self-confidence. Fun-filled, age appropriate activities using colorful gym equipment and sensory stimulation provide a wealth of "food" for the brain. Parents and children make friends, share special time together, enjoy new experiences, and have fun!

The Stages of PLAYGYM

BabyGym - 4 to 14 months
Tues. 9:30 A.M. & Thurs. 10:30 A.M.
Babies engage in a carefully planned program that addresses all important areas of early development. Baby signing, music, movement, socialization, and language development are included in each class. Keepsake art is offered twice a month giving lots of opportunities for sharing baby's milestones with the family.

Little Ones - 12 to 24 months
Mon. 10:30 A.M., Tue. 10:30 A.M. & Fri. 10:30 A.M.
Parents and children enjoy activities based on age appropriate themes that change weekly. Baby sign language gives children communication skills that transfer to the home setting. All classes include seesaw time, choo-choo, bubbles, rhythm band and project time.

2 Much Fun - 24 to 36 months
Thurs. 9:30 A.M. or Fri. 11:30 A.M.
Brains and muscles are challenged using age appropriate gym equipment, parachute games, tumbling, art projects and rhythm band music. Children also practice social skills as they learn to share, take turns and enjoy playing in a group setting.

Preschool Enrichment - 3 years to 4 years
Fri. 9:30 A.M. or Tues. 11:30 A.M.
Children experience sensory filled activities based on early childhood literary classics. Activities such as making ice cream in a bag, spray painting shirts, planting seeds, and baking cookies provide rich connections to delightful literature.

PlayGym Sessions 2012

Saturday Playgym: Saturday PlayGym is back in session! Join us for a once a month PlayGym class with your young child. These are parent participation classes which allow children to engage in all the learning domains in one hour and have lots of fun! Every class will have music, movement, art, intellectual, language and socialization activities. Come sing, laugh, learn, and play with your child! Saturday PlayGym takes place on:

  • Saturday, Feb. 4
  • Saturday, Mar. 3
  • Saturday, Apr. 7
  • Saturday, May 5

Cost for this 4 session class is $32.50 for members and $42.50 for nonmembers.

 

8 Week Session: Members $65, Non-Members $85
4 Week Mini-Session: Members $32.50, Non-Members $42.50

Holiday Happenings
October 24 – December 23
Come kick off the Holiday Season with Halloween parties. Learn about turkeys and Thanksgiving in November. A bell theme will put a jingle in the holiday season. We will wrap up the session with a yummy gingerbread theme!

There are no PlayGym classes the week of Nov. 21 – 25th due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

PLAYGYM SESSIONS 2012

Creative Winter Fun
January 2 – February 24
Join us for winter themes that include winter castles, snowmen, polar bears and magic mittens.

Spring into PlayGym
February  27 – April 27
Jump with joy as we explore springtime themes including kites and spring critters. Help us spot the pot of gold during St. Patrick’s week! There are no classes April 2 – 6 in conjunction with the Hamilton County Spring Break.

Marvelous May Mini-Session 
April 30 – May 25
We’ll celebrate Mother’s Day and also visit some exciting imaginary places like the circus and the airport. 

Super Summer PlayGym 
May 28 – July 27
Celebrate summer with us as we pretend to camp, vacation at the beach, and picnic at the park. These super sensory themes will explore bubbles and feet. There are no classes the week of July 2- 6th.

Amazing August Mini Session
July 30 - August 24  
Children’s books will be the highlight of this mini-session. Winnie the Pooh, Dora the Explorer, Clifford and Bob the Builder will come to life in our classes!

Fantastic Fall Fun
August 27 – Oct 19
Let’s learn about shapes and colors. We’ll dance to the wheels on the bus and visit the imaginary pumpkin patch.

Hooray for Holidays
October 22 – December 21
This is the busiest session of all!  We’ll start with Halloween parties, dance like turkeys and finally enjoy holiday gingerbread. There are no classes the week of Nov. 19 – 23 due to the Thanksgiving  holiday.
