STEAM Club for Homeschool

Supplement your homeschool curriculum with hands-on, interactive STEAM experiences you can't find anywhere else! Register your child for CDM's STEAM Club for Homeschool! STEAM Club meets Tuesdays from 1-3 p.m. and is designed specifically for 1st through 8th graders. Lessons change monthly and provide experiences that make science, technology, engineering, art and math come alive for kids.

All sessions run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Space Gloves
Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26

Extreme cold is only one of the hazards astronauts face when working in space. Students will learn about the insulative properties of different materials as they design and build protective astronaut gloves.

Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23
Students will become mechanical engineers as they learn about the force of moving air. They will build and test several different types of wind-powered machines. Students will also learn the most effective ways to harness the energy of the wind to make objects move.

Electric Circuits

Mar. 2, 9, 16, 23

Designing and building different types of circuits teaches students how electricity flows and provides the energy needed to run different kinds of loads such as fans, lights and toys. Students will use Cubelets, littleBits, snap circuits and circuit blocks to explore the properties of electricity.

Earth and Space
Apr. 6, 13, 20, 27
Students will explore Earth's fascinating relationship to our solar system and beyond through games, activities and projects.
