STEAM Club for Homeschool

Supplement your homeschool curriculum with hands-on, interactive STEAM experiences you can't find anywhere else! Register your child for CDM's STEAM Club for Homeschool! STEAM Club meets Tuesdays from 1-3 p.m. and is designed specifically for 1st through 8th graders. Lessons change monthly and provide experiences that make science, technology, engineering, art and math come alive for kids.

All sessions run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Timekeeping Technology
Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26
Students will use their mechanical engineering skills to design and build their own timer systems and timekeeping technologies.

Bio-inspired Gear
Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23
Students will use the amazing defense and protection system of plants and animals to design and make their own bio-inspired gear to meet weekly challenges.

Bubble Wands
March 2, 9. 16, 23
Bubbles are more than just for fun! There is a lot of science involved in making bubbles. Students will explore the different materials that are used to make bubble wands. In addition, they will design and create their own bubble wands and utilize them to solve bubble challenges.

Invasive Species
April 6, 13, 20, 27
Invasive species can be devastating to native flora and fauna. Students will learn about the problems associated with invasive species in the United States, as well as cane toads in Australia. Students will also design and test a humane trap to catch and remove cane toads.
