Creative Discovery Museum condemns racism and intolerance in all its forms. Black lives matter and we stand with the Black children and families on our staff, our board and in our community today and every day.
Creative Discovery Museum was created as a community museum over 25 years ago with the vision to make Chattanooga the best place for a child to grow up. Our mission is to inspire all children to explore, innovate, create and play. And in order for us to accomplish our mission and vision, Black children and Black families must feel safe, respected and welcomed.
Creative Discovery Museum is temporarily closed, but its outreach efforts continue in the Chattanooga community. CDM has partnered with Hamilton County Schools to provide 2,000 Discovery Kits to elementary school children in HCS’s Opportunity Zone Schools. The Discovery Kits, made possible by Food City in Hixson, will provide students and their families with materials and instructions needed to do a hands-on, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) activity.

How do we cope?

Creative Discovery Museum (CDM) is a museum for all and we take that very seriously. The health and safety of our visitors, staff and guests is our top priority. Being a resource for families, CDM has a social responsibility to our community and wants to participate in taking proactive measures to prevent the spread of illness in and around Chattanooga. CDM will remain closed indefinitely.
