Sunday, May 28 from 11-4

Kaitlyn Willow is a multi-disciplinary visual artist living and working in Chattanooga. Kait is bringing new life to the art of chainstitch embroidery, historically used for work-wear and western wear, like work shirts, letterman jackets and more. The vintage machines Kait uses to chainstitch are unique in that they are completely hand-steered using a handle underneath the table which allows free-flowing lines & lettering.

CDM Project:

Kait will be chainstitching in the Art Studio during the month of May. Kids will have the opportunity to learn about the mechanics of Kait's chainstitch machine, design their own patch, watch it be embroidered by hand, and attach it to a community denim jacket.

Artist in Residence experiences and activities are free with Museum admission. Funding is provided by Tennessee Arts Commission.
