FIRST LEGO League Challenge Team

FIRST LEGO League Challenge Team

We're creating a LEGO League Challenge Team for 4th-8th graders to compete in an international competition! The LEGO League Challenge is organized by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) in partnership with LEGO for elementary and middle school students in the United States and Canada.

Schedule

5:30-7:30 p.m. on Mondays from August 16 through November 18. Class will not meet on Labor Day.

Curriculum

The topic for the 2021-2022 season is Cargo Connect(SM). The team will study the topic, become familiar with the challenge mat and required tasks, organize a strategy for completing the tasks, build and program the LEGO Mindstorms robot. Other team building games and activities are highlights of the experience. The team is judged on the ability of their programmed robot to complete the tasks, how well they work together as a team, and how well they represent the FIRST LEGO League core values of inspiration, gracious professionalism and cooperation. Finally, teams will give a 5-minute presentation on their research about the challenge topic.
