Kindling the Preschool Science Spark
Thursday, February 20 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
$35 includes 3 CEUs and a light dinner
Preschoolers are primed to be excellent scientists -- they are curious and they ask a lot of questions! As teachers, how can we build on this spark to help young learners create investigations, make observations and grow in their critical thinking skills?
This workshop will emphasize the important processes we want our students to use when doing science. Activities related to rocks, critters, and machines will also be explored in break out sessions as we walk through investigations that can be used in your classroom. To be successful in STEM careers, we need confident people who know how to be curious, ask questions, and actively learn. These behaviors start in early childhood. When teachers are confident to take risks and model curiosity, STEM flourishes.
Come share time with fellow preschool teachers as you reflect on ways to inspire your students to be confident scientific thinkers now and in the future. Registration for this workshop includes a light dinner, three professional development hours, fellowship, door prizes and interactive lessons delivered by early childhood experts.
Space for Kindling the Preschool Science Spark is limited. Reserve online using the form below or by calling (423) 648-6045.
