Turquoise Trail

Join us for the third annual Turquoise Trail, an accessible and sensory-friendly trick-or-treating event that brings Halloween magic to children of all abilities. This evening is designed to break down barriers and create a festive, welcoming experience for children with mobility, developmental, and sensory differences.
The Turquoise Trail is more than candy—families will find plenty of allergy-safe treats and non-candy treasures, ensuring every child can take part in the joy of trick-or-treating. With a flat, well-lit path, patient volunteers, and a supportive environment, kids can enjoy Halloween in a way that feels safe, fun, and fully inclusive.
Thanks to the support of community partners and dedicated volunteers, Turquoise Trail continues to grow as a cherished tradition of belonging and celebration. Together, we’re making Halloween a holiday where all children can share in the joy.
At this year's Association of Children's Museums conference, Interactivity, Creative Discovery Museum received an Outstanding Practice Award for Turquoise Trail. This award "recognizes an exceptional accomplishment by a children’s museum in work across all departments that is also recognized as an outstanding practice for the field." We are very proud of our team, who have inspired other museums to create similar events in their communities.
