Meet Vinelba. She is a former Family Forward intern and a young mother. She was introduced to the Family Forward organization through an aunt. Through that program, she was provided with diapers, clothes, and gifts for her 3-year-old daughter. She was approached by her case worker about the intern position here at CDM, and though she didn’t know much about the Museum, she gladly accepted. She believes the internship was a great opportunity to learn many new skillsets, including public speaking and interaction with kids and parents. One of her favorite things about the experience was learning from her co-workers, who have become like a second family to her. In fact, Vinelba has completed her internship and was recently hired on as a Museum Educator, where she will continue serving youth at CDM!
This internship has given Vinelba her first job, the opportunity to use her voice, and the tools to succeed in both a career and her new journey into college.
