Chattanooga, Tenn. (Mar. 24, 2026)—Creative Discovery Museum (CDM) is pleased to announce Kelly Skinner as its new Vice President of Hospitality and Operations. Kelly brings extensive experience in restaurants, hotels, and experiential operations. Her deep passion for creating meaningful, memorable guest experiences makes her an excellent addition to the Museum’s leadership team.

Most recently, Kelly served as Director of Operations at Common House Chattanooga, where she led a dynamic and multifaceted operation spanning boutique hotel accommodations, food and beverage, private events, coworking, and cultural programming. During her tenure, she played a key role in significantly growing membership, enhancing guest amenities, and building a strong, service-driven team culture. Prior to her time at Common House, Kelly contributed to the revitalization of the Historic Chattanooga Choo Choo, helping to elevate operations and guest experience within one of the city’s most iconic destinations.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kelly to Creative Discovery Museum,” said Tim Sears, President and CEO. “Her depth of experience in hospitality and operations, combined with her commitment to building strong teams and exceptional guest experiences, will be invaluable as we continue to focus on service excellence and the future of the Museum. Kelly’s leadership will help ensure every family who walks through our doors feels welcomed and leaves feeling joyful and inspired.”

Kelly’s connection to Creative Discovery Museum is both professional and deeply personal. As a parent, she has spent years experiencing the Museum through the eyes of her child, including time in the Make It Workshop where one particular creation has become a lasting keepsake. That piece, crafted years ago and still proudly held onto by her now-teenager, represents the kind of meaningful, hands-on experience that defines CDM’s impact on families in the community.

In her new role at CDM, Kelly will oversee all aspects of hospitality, including guest relations, facilities, and operational strategy. She will focus on strengthening service excellence and ensuring that every visitor interaction reflects the Museum’s mission to inspire children to explore, innovate, create, and play.

Kelly expressed her enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I am honored to join the Creative Discovery Museum team and be part of an organization that plays such an important role in our community. Having experienced the Museum as a parent, I’ve seen firsthand the lasting impact it can have. I look forward to building on that foundation and enhancing the experience for every guest who walks through the doors.”
