Creative Discovery Museum Celebrates Spring at Holi: Festival of Colors
Celebrate the Magic of Spring at Creative Discovery Museum’s Holi Festival on March 22!
[Chattanooga, TN. – March 22, 2025] Join us for an unforgettable celebration of color, culture, and community as Creative Discovery Museum (CDM) presents a special Holi Festival on Saturday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This vibrant, family-friendly event is included with your museum admission and promises to be a colorful and engaging experience for all ages!
Holi, known as the Festival of Colors, is a lively Hindu festival celebrated across India and South Asia, typically marking the arrival of spring. The holiday symbolizes the victory of good over evil, with the playful throwing of colors representing the joy of renewal, new beginnings, and the power of love. Holi is much more than a celebration of vibrant hues—it's a time for people to come together, let go of the past, and share in the happiness and unity that the season brings.
At this event at CDM, you’ll be transported to the heart of India’s rich traditions through a sensory celebration filled with music, dance, food, and color. Engage in the excitement of traditional color fights, where everyone is invited to participate in this joyful tradition.
In addition to the lively color festivities, we have an exciting lineup of activities throughout the day. Enjoy delicious food demonstrations that bring the flavors of India to life, indulge in a hot cup of Chai, and experience live dance performances showcasing the rich cultural heritage of India. Be inspired by the musical performance from Khushboo Choudhary and take part in hands-on art activities that invite creativity and expression in a truly fun and interactive environment.
The event will culminate in a traditional color throw in the plaza, so be sure to wear something you don't mind getting a little colorful! The final moments will be filled with laughter, music, and vibrant splashes of color, making it the perfect way to embrace the spirit of Holi. The events schedule is as follows:
• 9-11: Rangoli Artist, Sushma Patel, on the Plaza
• 11-2: Language Artists and Writing Demos in Art Studio
• 11:30: Story Time in Discovery Library
• 12:00: Southern Classical Indian Dance Performance in Atrium

• 2:00: Kitchen demo and tasting with Chai served
