Little FarmHouse
Welcome to the farm in our Early Childhood exhibit, Little FarmHouse! From the CDM atrium you can see the welcoming yellow farmhouse where families can cook in the kitchen and practice nighttime routines in the nursery. Through the farmhouse is the garage, complete with a truck to tinker with. Play in the meadow with age-appropriate climbing, sensory, and relational experiences for pre- and non-walkers. Past the farmhouse, you’ll find the barn and tractor, some friendly animals ready for pretend-play, and the farmer’s market. Through varied sensory experiences, visitors to the farm can explore the connections between farm to market to table and what it takes to make things grow.
Connected to this exhibit is Jayne’s Little Explorer’s Classroom, specifically designed for drop-in programming and reserved programs like PlayGym and Little Explorers. The space is named in honor of Jayne Griffin, longtime Vice President of Education for the Museum and advocate for developmentally appropriate early childhood education.
