Say “ciao!” to an unforgettable cultural adventure. Ciao Bambini! invites kids and families to explore the heart and charm of Italy through hands-on play, imagination, and discovery.
This immersive exhibit transports visitors to the rolling hills of Tuscany, the bustling piazzas of Rome, and the cozy corners of traditional Italian life—all designed at a child’s scale. Through creative, open-ended activities, families can discover what daily life is like for children growing up in Italy and explore the rich traditions that make this country so special.

In Ciao Bambini!, families can:
- Cook up pretend pasta and pizza in the bustling Ristorante
- Scoop and serve treats in the Gelateria and Bar Pasticceria
- Step inside a traditional Italian home to make pasta and create a mosaic masterpiece
- Visit an Italian elementary school to learn phrases, explore Roman numerals, and make an Italian flag
- Toss a coin into the wishing fountain in a vibrant piazza
- Build ancient columns like a young archaeologist
- Take a bright red Vespa for a playful ride

Ciao Bambini! is a nationally traveling exhibit created by The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum, in collaboration with the St. Louis Italian community, with support from Bill and Sally Canfield and Linda and Jesse Hunter.
